The Power Gems was originally a large and glowing meteor that was stuck in the moon's atmosphere. After the meteor was struck by supernatural lightning it was supercharged with energy and crashed into Masonville and broke 5 small pieces off with large amounts of energy, then The Gem Warriors get blasted with a wave of it's energy and were granted it's superpowers. Many other pieces were scattered all other Masonville. The remains of the rest of the meteor is unknown.
